Biography

Dr. Mark Benton is a board certified family medicine physician who offers quality, convenient primary care and walk-in care at Baptist Medical Park – Navarre. Prior to completing his residency and board certification in family medicine, Dr. Benton served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator, an instructor pilot, and a flight surgeon. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 2011 after 22 years of service. He and his dedicated staff welcome patients with traditional family medicine appointments and walk-ins every weekday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

He retired from the U.S. Navy in 2011 after 22 years of service. He has been married to his wife Ellen (a Pensacola native) for over 27 years and has four children.

What led you to become a doctor or choose your focus of medicine?
I always wanted to be a doctor and serve people.

What is something about you that only your patients would know?
I consider it the highest privilege to be involved in patient care. There is no greater honor than earning the trust of a patient and his/her family. Our practice is designed to meet the needs of our patients at any time.  

How would a patient describe you?
Compassionate, a good listener and a family man.

What is the most important factor in a doctor/patient relationship?
Confidentiality, common ground and teaching evidence based medicine.

What can a patient expect when they have you as a doctor?
That I will practice evidence based medicine and continuity of care.
