First Health Care System to offer SILS Procedure

Baptist Health Care is the first health care provider in the region to offer the Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) procedure, or the "belly button surgery." The procedure requires one small access point through the belly button versus a traditional larger incision and scar.

This revolutionary approach to hysterectomy – the most common surgery in the United States – utilizes a small incision at the naval in which a round port is placed.
