Dr. Balfour of Baptist Heart & Vascular Institute Earns Certification from the Heart Failure Society of America
Pelbreton Balfour Jr., M.D., M.S., FACC, FSCMR, HF-Cert, a cardiologist with the Baptist Heart & Vascular Institute, has earned heart failure certification from the Heart Failure Society of America. This designation is based on Dr. Balfour’s advanced knowledge and skill in providing heart failure assessment, treatment and management for his patients.
Dr. Balfour earned his bachelor’s degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh. He completed an internship and residency at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dr. Balfour is fellowship-trained in clinical cardiology and advanced cardiovascular imaging. He was recognized as a fellow with the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. He earned Level III competence and board certification in cardiac MRI. Dr. Balfour joined BHVI in 2017.
