Baptist Health Care, Andrews Institute Selected to 100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Orthopedic Programs List by Becker’s Healthcare

1/09/2019

Baptist Health Care has been named to the Becker's Healthcare 100 hospitals and health systems with great orthopedic programs list for 2018. Hospitals featured on the list earned recognition for quality of care and patient satisfaction for orthopedic and spine surgery. Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is an affiliate of Baptist Health Care, and is the area’s only orthopaedic program on the list and one of three orthopaedic programs in the state of Florida.

A key factor in earning the national honor was Andrews Institute receiving the highest rating available among all area hospitals in the performance year-one Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement quality performance category by improving outcomes for patients while reducing cost billed to Medicare.

Other components of the Andrews orthopedic program helped earn the distinction. The Andrews Research and Education Foundation also recently received a $1 million grant from the State of Florida to support regenerative medicine research endeavors. Baptist Health Care and Andrews Institute provide full-time certified athletic trainers and team physicians to all 23 public high schools in a four county area. Andrews Institute is also the official health care provider for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Double-A minor league affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, and the University of West Florida.

The Andrews Institute team is dedicated to providing an all–inclusive continuum of care at multiple locations throughout Northwest Florida. With 35 physicians on staff, Andrews Institute offers care in numerous subspecialties at five area locations, and provides rehabilitation services at nine area locations.
