Baptist Health Care Hospitals Score High in Latest Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently updated its Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating data, and Baptist Health Care hospitals earned top ratings among area hospitals.

CMS awarded Gulf Breeze Hospital with its second consecutive five-star rating, and Baptist Hospital and Jay Hospital were awarded four-star ratings, respectively. Gulf Breeze Hospital was the only area five-star rated hospital, and one of five hospitals in the state of Florida to earn top marks.

Hospitals were assessed on measures for which they submit data and include patient experience, timely and effective care, complications, readmissions, use of medical imaging and value of care.

The Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating is designed to help individuals, their family members and caregivers compare the quality of care at over 4,000 Medicare-certified hospitals across the country.
