Baptist Health Care Names Joyce Nichols Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer

Joyce Nichols, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, CWOCN, has been named vice president and chief nursing officer for Baptist Health Care. In her new role, Nichols is responsible for patient care, quality, safety and training for nursing team members.
Nichols earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of West Florida and her master’s and family nurse practitioner credentials from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. Nichols became a certified wound, ostomy, continence nurse through the Emory University Wound, Ostomy and Continence certification program in Atlanta.
Throughout her career, Nichols has served in a variety of clinical roles in both hospital and public health settings. She has led a number of program development projects involving critical care transport services, wound care, patient safety and, most recently, COVID-19 response. Nichols has served as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students and as an adjunct professor for the Pensacola State College nursing program.
Nichols joined Baptist Health Care in 2008. She has been honored with the Outstanding Leader Award in Operational Excellence for Baptist Hospital.
