Baptist Health Care Partners with Santa Rosa County to Vaccinate Residents of Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Beach and Navarre

Baptist Health Care partnered with Santa Rosa County to administer 522 vaccinations on Jan. 13 to residents age 65 and older from Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Beach and Navarre.

“It was a great event that ran safely and smoothly from start to finish. Everyone who received a shot was clearly grateful and relieved to now have this layer of protection from COVID-19,” said Scott Raynes, executive vice president of Baptist Health Care. “We were happy to join Santa Rosa County in this partnership to roll out the vaccine to the community and look forward to future opportunities to work together to help contain the spread of this serious disease as more supplies arrive.”

Everyone who received a shot on Wednesday had previously registered for the vaccination with the Santa Rosa County Department of Health earlier this month. They had been placed on a waitlist until an additional supply of the vaccine was received and were contacted Jan. 11 by Baptist schedulers in the same order in which they registered.

“Santa Rosa County greatly appreciates our partnership with Baptist Health Care in vaccinating our residents,” said Brad Baker, public safety director, Santa Rosa County. “Working with our private healthcare providers as well as our department of health is the most efficient strategy for beating this pandemic.”

Additional vaccination events will be scheduled as more supplies of the vaccine become available.
