Baptist Health Care to Welcome Nurses Visiting from China during Special Ceremony Oct. 21

10/17/2019

PENSACOLA, Fla. (Oct. 17, 2019) – Baptist Health Care will host a welcome ceremony for eight nurses from Hunan Provincial People's Hospital in Changsha, China on Monday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. in the Lakeview Activity Center (1110 West Lakeview Ave.) The group will be visiting Baptist through Oct. 25.

The visit is the result of an International Academic Exchange agreement that Baptist formalized in 2017 with Hunan Provincial People's Hospital, a 3,000-bed hospital in Changsha, China, to collaborate and share patient care, clinical leadership, and clinical education processes. That same year, Baptist hosted 10 nursing colleagues from Changsha to observe and experience our clinical culture and also discuss potential research efforts. In 2018, a small group from Baptist traveled to Hunan Provincial People's Hospital to learn about the processes, protocols and hospital culture there.

During the week, the visiting nurses will tour Baptist Hospital, Andrews Institute, the University of West Florida and local areas of interest in Pensacola. They also will attend a mock trauma demonstration and enjoy cooking demonstrations presented by Baptist dietitians.
