Gulf Breeze Hospital Earns Healthgrades 2019 Patient Safety Excellence Award™
Healthgrades, the leading online resource for information about physicians and hospitals, has announced that Gulf Breeze Hospital is among the recipients of the annual Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award™ for the second consecutive year. This award recognizes hospitals for providing excellence in patient safety by preventing infections, medical errors and other preventable complications.
Gulf Breeze Hospital was one of three area hospitals to earn this prestigious recognition.
“We are dedicated to making patient safety a top priority at Gulf Breeze Hospital and to providing an outstanding patient experience,” said Beau Pollard, Gulf Breeze Hospital administrator.
Gulf Breeze Hospital also recently received its third straight a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS provides quality and service data to patients and families with information they need to compare the performance of hospitals where they seek medical care.
In 2019, 460 hospitals across the nation achieved the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award, placing them among the top 10 percent of all short-term acute care hospitals reporting patient safety data. On average, 127,667 patient safety events could have been avoided if all hospitals performed similarly to award recipients on each of the 14 patient safety indicators evaluated by Healthgrades*.
