Appendectomy
Removal of the appendix. IP BH GBH
Arteriovenous fistula Insertion
The surgical creation of an AV fistula provides a long-lasting site through which blood can be removed and returned during hemodialysis. The fistula, which allows the person to be connected to a dialysis machine, will be prepared by a surgeon before dialysis is started. When the vein and artery are joined, the vein gradually becomes larger and stronger, creating the fistula that provides vascular access. IP OP BH
Biopsy/excision cyst lesion or node
Skin biopsy is a biopsy technique in which a skin lesion is removed to be sent to a pathologist to render a microscopic diagnosis. OP BH GBH BMP-9
Bowel resection
Bowel Resection or colectomy is a surgical procedure to remove all or part of your colon. Your colon, also called your large intestine, is a long tube-like organ at the end of your digestive system. Colectomy may be necessary to treat or prevent diseases and conditions that affect your colon. IP BH GBH
Breast biopsy
Several methods for a breast biopsy now exist. The most appropriate method of biopsy for a patient depends upon a variety of factors, including the size, location, appearance and characteristics of the abnormality. OP BH GBH BMP-9
Breast lumpectomy
Lumpectomy is a surgical procedure that involves removing a suspected malignant (cancerous) tumor, or lump, and a small portion of the surrounding tissue from a woman's breast. This tissue is then tested to determine if it contains cancerous cells. A number of lymph nodes may also be removed to test them for cancerous cells (sentinel lymph node biopsy or axillary dissection). OP BH GBH BMP-9
Breast mastectomy
Mastectomy is the medical term for the surgical removal of one or both breasts, partially or completely. Mastectomy is usually done to treat breast cancer. IP OP BH GBH
Catheter insertion mediport
A Mediport is a small medical appliance (reservoir) placed in a pocket made beneath the skin. The catheter part is tunneled underneath the skin and connects the port to a large vein. Usually the jugular or subclavian vein will be used. These ports can be used for chemotherapy treatments, long-term antibiotic use, fluid therapy, or blood draws. To access your Mediport, a special needle will be used. IP

Cholecystectomy
Cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gallbladder. It is a common treatment of symptomatic gallstones and other gallbladder conditions. OP BH GBH BMP-9
Circumcision
Circumcision is the surgical removal of the foreskin from the human penis. OP GBH
Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy is the endoscopic examination of the large bowel and the distal part of the small bowel with a fiber optic camera on a flexible tube passed through the anus. It may provide a visual diagnosis (e.g. ulceration, polyps) and grants the opportunity for biopsy or removal of suspected colorectal cancer lesions. OP BH GBH BMP-9
Colostomy
A colostomy is a surgical procedure in which a stoma is formed by drawing the healthy end of the large intestine or colon through an incision in the anterior abdominal wall and suturing it into place. This opening, in conjunction with the attached stoma appliance, provides an alternative channel for feces to leave the body. It may be reversible or irreversible depending on the circumstances. IP BH GBH
Cystoscopy
Cystoscopy is a procedure that is used to look at the bladder (lower urinary tract), collect urine samples, and examine the prostate gland. Performed with an optic instrument known as a cystoscope (urethroscope), this instrument uses a lighted tip for guidance to aid in diagnosing urinary tract disease and prostate disease. Performed by a urologist, this surgical test also enables biopsies to be taken or small stones to be removed by way of a hollow channel in the cystoscope. OP BH GBH
Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
EGD is a test to examine the lining of the esophagus (the tube that connects your throat to your stomach), stomach, and first part of the small intestine. It is done with a small camera (flexible endoscope) that is inserted down the throat. OP BH GBH BMP-9
Gastric bypass surgery
Gastric bypass surgery divides the stomach into a small upper pouch and a much larger lower "remnant" pouch and then re-arranges the small intestine to connect to both. This is an operation to treat morbid obesity, Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, and other comorbid conditions. The resulting weight loss, typically dramatic, markedly reduces comorbidities. IP BH
Gastric banding surgery
A laparoscopic adjustable gastric band, commonly referred to as a band, lap band or LAGB, is an inflatable silicone device placed around the top portion of the stomach to treat obesity, intended to slow consumption of foods and thus the amount of food consumed. IP BH
Hemorrhoidectomy
A hemorrhoidectomy is surgery to remove internal or external hemorrhoids that are extensive or severe. OP BH GBH BMP-9
Hernia repair
Hernia repair refers to a surgical operation for the correction of a hernia (a bulging of internal organs or tissues through a defect in the wall of a body cavity). Hernias can occur in many places, including the abdomen, groin, diaphragm, and at the site of a previous operation. There are many different approaches to the surgical repair of hernias, including herniorrhaphy, hernioplasty, and herniotomy. Hernia repair is often performed as an ambulatory procedure. OP BH GBH BMP-9
Hydrocelectomy
Hydrocelectomy, also known as hydrocele repair, is a surgical procedure performed to correct a hydrocele. A hydrocele is an accumulation of peritoneal fluid in a membrane called the tunica vaginalis, which covers the front and sides of the male testes. OP BH GBH
Lithotripsy
Lithotripsy is a medical procedure that uses shock waves to break up stones in the kidney, bladder or ureter (tube that carries urine from your kidneys to your bladder). After the procedure, the tiny pieces of stones pass out of your body in your urine.
OP BH GBH
Lung lobectomy
Lobectomy of the lung is a surgical operation where a lobe of the lung is removed. It is done to remove a portion of diseased lung, such as early stage lung cancer. IP BH
Nephrectomy
Nephrectomy, or kidney removal, is performed on patients with severe kidney damage from disease, injury or congenital conditions. These include cancer of the kidney (renal cell carcinoma); polycystic kidney disease (a disease in which cysts, or sac-like structures, displace healthy kidney tissue); and serious kidney infections. It is also used to remove a healthy kidney from a donor for the purposes of kidney transplantation. OP BH GBH
Nissen fundoplication
Nissen fundoplication is a surgical procedure to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and hiatus hernia. In GERD it is usually performed when medical therapy has failed, but with paraesophageal hiatus hernia, it is the first-line procedure. The Nissen fundoplication is total (360°), but partial fundoplications known as Belsey fundoplication (270° anterior transthoracic), Dor fundoplication (anterior 180-200°) or Toupet fundoplication (posterior 270°) are also alternative procedures with somewhat different indications. IP BH GBH
Parathyroidectomy
Parathyroidectomy is the surgical removal of one or more parathyroid glands. This procedure is used to remove primary tumors or hyperplasia of the glands. OP BH GBH
Penile prosthesis
A penile prosthesis is a medical device implanted in the penis requiring a surgical procedure. The device is often used for men with organic or treatment-resistant psychogenic impotence who suffer from erectile dysfunction. OP BH GBH
Prostate biopsy
Prostate biopsy is a procedure in which small samples are removed from a man's prostate gland to be tested for the presence of cancer. It is typically performed when the scores from a PSA blood test rise to a level that is associated with the possible presence of prostate cancer. OP BH GBH
Prostate laser surgery
Prostate laser surgery is a procedure to ease urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate, a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). During prostate laser surgery, the doctor removes prostate tissue that's squeezing the urethra and blocking urine flow, thus making a new larger tube for urine to pass through. IP OP BH GBH
Prostate-transurethral resection
Transurethral resection of the prostate (commonly known as a TURP) is a urological operation used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). As the name indicates, it is performed by visualizing the prostate through the urethra and removing tissue by electrocautery or sharp dissection. IP OP BH GBH
Pubo-vaginal sling robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy
A surgical procedure in which material is placed under the bladder neck to support and immobilize. This technique improves sphincter function and decreases bladder neck movement, improving continence. OP BH GBH
In partial nephrectomy, only the diseased or infected portion of the kidney is removed utilizing the da Vinci® S HD (robotic) Surgical System. IP BH GBH
Rectopexy
Surgical placement of internal sutures (stitches) to secure the rectum in its proper position. OP BH GBH
Robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy
A minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgical procedure that removes the cancerous prostate gland and related structures. The technique offers patients many potential benefits over traditional open surgery. IP BH GBH
Robotic-assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasty
Robotic-assisted laparoscopic pyeloplasty is a surgery that repairs congenital or acquired narrowing or scarring where the ureter (the tube that drains urine from the kidney to the bladder) attaches to the kidney. This is a minimally-invasive procedure that is as safe and effective as the open surgery, while providing the patient with less post-operative pain, a shorter hospital stay, earlier return to work and daily activities, and smaller incisions. IP BH GBH
Robotic-assisted cholecystectomy single site
A surgical technique used to remove the gallbladder with the daVinci Robotic System thru a single umbilical port. Cholecystectomy is a common treatment of symptomatic gallstones and other gallbladder conditions. OP BH
Sentinel lymph node biopsy with mapping
Sentinel node biopsy is a surgical procedure used to determine if cancer has spread beyond a primary tumor into your lymphatic system. Sentinel node biopsy is used most commonly in evaluating breast cancer and melanoma. OP BH GBH
Temporal artery biopsy
A temporal artery biopsy is a procedure in which a small piece of tissue is removed from your temporal artery and then studied under a microscope to check for signs of inflammation and damage. A temporal artery biopsy is recommended when the doctor believes a person may have temporal arteritis (also known as giant cell arteritis or cranial arteritis). OP BH GBH BMP-9
Thyroidectomy
A thyroidectomy is an operation that involves the surgical removal of all or part of the thyroid gland. Surgeons often perform a thyroidectomy when a patient has thyroid cancer or some other condition of the thyroid gland (such as hyperthyroidism) or goiter. OP BH GBH
Transurethral resection bladder tumor
Transurethral resection of the bladder is a surgical procedure that is used both to diagnose bladder cancer and to remove cancerous tissue from the bladder. OP BH GBH
Ureteroscopy
A ureteroscopy is an examination or procedure using a ureteroscope. A ureteroscope, like a cystoscope, is an instrument for examining the inside of the urinary tract. A ureteroscope is longer and thinner than a cystoscope and is used to see beyond the bladder into the ureters, the tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder. Some ureteroscopes are flexible like a thin, long straw. Others are more rigid and firm. Through the ureteroscope, the doctor can see a stone in the ureter and then remove it with a small basket at the end of a wire inserted through an extra channel in the ureteroscope. OP BH GBH
Vasectomy
Vasectomy is a surgical procedure for male sterilization and/or permanent birth control. OP BH GBH
Wound debridement
Surgical debridement is performed to treat wounds with necrotic and/or infected tissue. IP OP BH GBH BMP-9
