Baptist Hospital completed its patient move at 12:30 p.m. and safely transported all 117 hospital patients from the legacy campus at E Street to our new campus at the corner of Brent Lane and I-110.

Patient Move

Baptist Hospital is moving to the new campus at the corner of Brent Lane and I-110 in Pensacola on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023.

  • On Saturday, Sept. 23, the E Street campus will be closed.
  • On Saturday, Sept. 23, the new Brent Lane campus - with the exception of the ER - will be closed to the public during the move to ensure a safe and efficient process. If you are experiencing an emergency call 911.
  • Our teams, along with local area emergency management, have extensively planned, practiced and refined processes to ensure a safe and efficient patient move.
  • Throughout the day on Saturday, Sept. 23, beginning at 5 a.m., all hospital patients will be safely transported by Escambia County Emergency Management Services via ambulance from E Street to the new Brent Lane campus.
  • To ensure the safest and most efficient process, visiting hours at the E Street campus will end at 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22.
  • Patients and their loved ones will be provided with thorough information leading up to the move.
  • Assigned clinical caregivers will answer patient and family member questions leading up to and during the move.
  • Updates about the move will be shared here and on our social media channels throughout the day.

9 p.m. - E Street campus visiting hours end. Loved ones take patient belongings home.

Saturday, Sept. 23

3 a.m. - ER at Brent Lane and I-110 Opens and ER at E Street Location Closes
5 a.m. - We begin moving patients to our new campus.
4 p.m. - Visitors are allowed to enter new campus.
5 p.m. - Visitors escorted to patient rooms in the new hospital.

FAQs

Will any streets in the area be closed during the all-day move on September 23?
A small section of Moreno Street in front of the hospital's south side will be closed.
Will other Baptist Health Care facilities, like urgent care locations, be open during the move?
Yes. All other Baptist Health Care facilities will be operating their normal hours.

Are there plans if something such as a weather event prevents the move on September 23, 2023?
Yes. We will be working with city and county officials up to and including move day. If there is any reason Sept. 23 presents a health and/or safety risk for our patients, team members or the community at large, the move will be rescheduled.
Will there be visiting hours during the move?
Visiting hours will end at the E Street location at 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22 and resume at the Brent Lane location at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23.
What if someone goes to the ER at the E Street location needing access to an emergency room?
The ER will close at the E Street campus at 3 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23. Escambia County EMS is aware of the closure and will take patients to other ERs in the area during the move. In the event someone walks or drives to the ER at E Street after it closes, an ambulance will be stationed at the location throughout the move to provide medical evaluation. If emergency care is required, the patient will be transported to an ER for treatment.
When will the cafeteria be open?
The cafeteria will open Sunday, Sept. 24.
When will Panera Bread be open?
Panera Bread opens Tuesday, Sept. 26 in the Bear Family Foundation Health Center on Brent Lane.
Will it cost visitors to park or use valet?
No. All Baptist Health Care locations have free parking, including the new campus. Free valet parking will be available at the new Baptist Hospital campus on Monday, Sept. 25.
When will the gift shop be open?
The gift shop is scheduled to open Monday, Sept. 25.
What if I don’t know my physician’s new office location?
The Brent Lane campus features intuitive wayfinding. It will be very easy for patients and guests to find where they are going, and BHC team members are always available to help you find your way.
