Our Stroke Program
We strive to provide a continuum of care for our stroke patients that includes world-class service, coordinated and innovative clinical care, education and patient safety to improve patient outcomes and reduce disability and deaths.
The Baptist Health Care Stroke Program is an integrated system that works to transform stroke care by partnering with our patients, their families and the surrounding community. We strive to provide clinical excellence and service to people by implementing evidence-based care, measuring performance metrics, identifying gaps in care and embodying process improvement.
Baptist Hospital has achieved DNV GL - Healthcare’s Primary Stroke Center Plus certification, and Gulf Breeze Hospital has earned the Primary Stroke Center certification.
To elevate the level of care patients receive, Baptist Health Care voluntarily pursues regular comprehensive, independent evaluations by DNV GL - Healthcare. These evaluations provide opportunities to enhance the safety and quality of care we provide.
DNV GL - Healthcare’s stringent standards of performance charge Baptist Health Care with maintaining ongoing community education to help people recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke. Early detection is critical to receiving treatments that can lead to survival and recovery. We provide learning opportunities about the symptoms and treatment of stroke through health expos, support group meetings and a variety of special programs. The community is invited to take advantage of free health care screenings at these events.
