Amy Napier Helps Make Teamwork Top-Notch at Andrews Institute and Baptist

Amy Napier, athletic trainer with Andrews Institute is a great example of Baptist culture

Amy Napier, ATC, has been a certified athletic trainer and supervisor at Andrews Institute for over four years and serves with a great passion for her work. She currently supervises the collegiate athletic trainers at the University of West Florida, where she provides first aid to student-athletes, offers injury prevention and provides therapeutic rehabilitation.

“I enjoy teamwork best among our staff,” Amy said. “I truly feel that any of us would do anything for each other, and we join in to celebrate the small things for each other.”

Amy exemplifies the organization’s culture.

“I feel as though I embody the culture at Baptist and Andrews Institute,” Amy said. “I try to complete all tasks to the best of my ability and leave all things better than when I found it. In addition, I feel like I can lean on anyone here to help provide the best patient care possible.”

Amy has participated in many rewarding projects over the years with Andrews Institute. One of her favorites is the annual high school athlete sports physicals. Year after year Amy is amazed at the volunteers who show up and come together to provide free health care and services to student-athletes. Because of this annual summer event, student-athletes and their families can build continuity within their health care system and establish a good baseline of wellness going into each sports season. At the 2024 event, Andrews Institute saw more than 1,250 athletes.

Serving her community is important to Amy. She is proud to be part of a legacy like Andrews Institute that builds trust and is a health care partner for life.

Amy shares that athletic trainers do more than most people realize.

“We’re not water girls or individuals who just tape up sprained ankles,” Amy said. “While those tasks may be what spectators see, those are the bare minimum of our roles. We create a diverse culture for our student-athletes, ranging from injury prevention to emergency preparedness to injury diagnoses and rehabilitation to return to play. I wear my credentials with honor.”

When she’s not serving student-athletes, motivating others or serving the community, Amy can be found at home playing with her two dogs or baking. She loves making truffles and staying active with her canines, Nala and Rigs.

Her favorite two quotes are: “Relationships are built on trust, not transactions,” and “Hire in your weakness, not in your shadows.”

Thank you, Amy, for sharing your drive, passion and experience with us and so many others at Andrews Institute. You help make Baptist and our community better. This is The Baptist Way and what makes our culture unique.
