Recipe: Taco Seasoning

Making your own taco or Mexican-flavored seasoning is a great way to ensure a healthier meal without any additives or artificial items. Most of us have these ingredients on hand. Spend a few minutes to mix up a batch.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons chili powder
1and ½ tablespoons ground cumin
1and ½ tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons ground oregano
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
½ teaspoon salt
Mix all of the above in a small bowl. Use 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning per pound of meat. Then place leftover seasoning in a small jar or sealed storage container. Keep stored in a cool, dry place for up to six months. This makes four to five servings.
